A Project "I am "

Community Photo Exhibit in collaboration with Luminary by La Terza

I Am -Insert-

You are invited to participate in a collaborative project that seeks to collectively create a body of work to show the world the real you and embodies the community we hope to build.

As human beings, we are constantly expressing ourselves in various ways, from the way we dress and present ourselves externally, to the words we use and the actions we take. But despite all of this, it can be difficult to truly show the world who we believe we truly are at our core.

We may put on a certain facade or mask in order to fit in with societal norms or to protect ourselves from being judged. But in doing so, we may be hiding our true selves and our unique qualities that make us who we are.

This is why I’m excited to announce my latest project, “I am -insert-“. This project is all about giving people the opportunity to express themselves and to share who they truly are, without fear of judgment or criticism.

In this project, clients will participate in a short portrait shoot where they can express themselves in any way they choose. This could be through how they dress, how they move, with no words. The goal is to create a portrait, or an alternative work of art, that attempts to capture the a representation of each person and showcases who they think they are at their core.

Collectively, the works will be used as a fabric of expression, to be exhibited in February 2024 at Luminary by La Terza.

All people are welcome regardless of skin color, race, religion, politics, body shape or any other socially defined factor.

All recipients will receive a coupon for a complimentary cup of coffee at Luminary!

How does this work?

Each session will be 20 minutes long and will be created around the information you provide before the shoot, as well as what you wear to the session!  You are encouraged to pick a wardrobe which reflects how you feel, deep down, or something you want to share with the world (without words unless they are written!)

The final product will be a comprised of of prints, digital photos, mini-videos an even AI assisted representations (with the subjects permission only!).  There will be a variety of lighting scenarios. Images may be created using traditional and experimental lighting techniques, such as video and static projections, various objects, and various combinations of backgrounds.

How do I participate?

Step 1: Fill out your name, email and anything you want to share in the form below.

  • you may write a text description about who you are, what you are feeling or anything else you would like to share.   This may be short or long – that is up to you

Step 2:  You will then receive an email where you will be asked to sign a simple permission contract (for use of the images in the project promotion, and final exhibits) and then select your date and time.

This next event will take place on January 14th at the studio in Northside, Cincinnati

(please note the studio is not handicapped accessible and is fairly small so only participants will be asked to attend)

How much does it cost?

There is no cost to this project.  Donations are always appreciated to help fund the exhibit.  The goal is not turn down anyone, regardless of their means – so everyone is welcome without judgement.

Would love it if you shared!

Now let's begin!
