Collaborations

One could argue that every photo shoot is a collaboration.  What makes these special is that they are specifically inspired by your personal story!

I’d love for you to come explore with me, the various ideas below that form a theme in my work.

I AM -insert-

As human beings, we are constantly expressing ourselves in various ways, from the way we dress to the words we use and the actions we take. But despite all of this, it can be difficult to truly show the world who we think we are at our core. We may put on a certain facade or mask in order to fit in with societal norms or to protect ourselves from being judged. But in doing so, we may be hiding our true selves and our unique qualities that make us who we are.

That’s why I’m excited to announce my latest project, “I am -insert-“. This project is all about giving people the opportunity to express themselves and to show the world who they truly are, without fear of judgment or criticism.

In this project, clients will participate in a short portrait shoot where they can express themselves in any way they choose. This can be expressed through their clothing and their actions in conjunction with lighting. The goal is to create a portrait that truly captures the essence of each person and showcases who they think they are at their core.

This project is open to people of all ages, races, and backgrounds, and there are no limitations on the topics or expressions that can be used. I believe that everyone has something unique and beautiful to offer, and I want to give them the opportunity to share that with the world.

Dates and times will be announced shortly.  If you are interested, please sign up below to receive notification of details.

Unbroken

Unbroken - Plate #2

Unbroken is a project based on the premise that no matter how we perceive our situation or future, the human spirit will remain Unbroken.

In the project, subjects are nude (bottom bits may be covered if desired) and covered in clay.  We then shoot in a variety of lighting and styles to produce public content for the project.

These sessions are a collaboration between makeup artist Cheyenne Wright and Mr. Matzko. The shoots are private however you may certainly bring one person with you and both of us will always be present during the session.

The shoot generally takes about an hour for the clay application and another hour for shooting.

If you are interested in finding out more and booking a session, click below to schedule a 30 minute zoom call where we can meet in person and go over the details of the project.

There is no charge to participate in this project but donations are encouraged.   Recipients will receive a print for their participation.

Nudes In Movement

Nude in Motion - Plate 2
Capturing nude movement in an abstract portrait can add a unique and artistic element to the photograph. Unlike traditional portrait photography, which focuses on capturing a clear and detailed image of the subject, abstract photography allows the photographer to play with light, composition, and color to create a more artistic and expressive image.

One of the key elements of capturing nude movement is simplicity. By using a minimalist approach, the photographer can highlight the beauty and grace of the human form in motion, without being distracted by unnecessary details or elements. This can be achieved through the use of simple backgrounds, as well as by focusing on the movement and flow of the body itself.

Another important element of abstract nude movement photography is the use of color and light. By playing with different colors and lighting techniques, the photographer can create a sense of mood and atmosphere in the photograph. This can be achieved through the use of bold, vibrant colors, as well as through the use of soft, subtle lighting that highlights the movement of the body.

One of the key benefits of abstract nude movement photography is the natural and organic result. By focusing on the movement and flow of the body, the photographer can create a photograph that feels spontaneous and unplanned, which can add a sense of authenticity and realism to the image. This can help to create a more intimate and personal connection with the viewer, and can make the photograph feel more engaging and meaningful.

Overall, capturing nude movement can be a beautiful and artistic way to showcase the grace and beauty of the human form. By using a minimalist approach, playing with color and light, and focusing on the natural and organic result, the photographer can create stunning and evocative abstract photographs that highlight the beauty of the human body in motion.

Wait!  Aren’t collaborations free?

Well yes they are! The intention of a collaboration is to give as many people who want to participate in my projects a venue – no matter their economic status or situation.

However, it takes money to produce a photo shoot, whether small or complex.  At a minimum, I need to pay for my equipment, studio time, post production and other items regardless of how much I’m paid for a shoot.

Therefore, I am taking the approach of accepting Donations for my collaborations. This can be as little or as much as you decide. To make the donation process simple, I will send you a donation link where you can pay whatever you would like. I have also setup a Patreon with other benefits.

In keeping with the spirit of this experiment, I will  never think differently if you choose not to donate!  That is the entire intention of not charging a flat fee, and it will be an honor to work with you regardless of your situation or choice.

I look forward to working with you!
