Artistic Portraits

Every human has a story – powerful moments which form who we believe we are. They are created by our birthplace, our race, our economic reality, as well as our family dynamics, belief systems and inherited DNA. Most of all, they are our experiences. Each story is a mirror of how we express ourselves to the world. It is comprised of thoughts and experiences, both spoken and private.

These sessions have two parts – the first is a conversation between Michael and the subject, exploring their Identity, what truly drives their concept of themselves. The second is a creative portrait session, in Michael Matzko’s style, inspired by the conversation about their life and what truly makes them tick.

The experience is designed to help you explore and celebrate your unique identity through art. Whether you are celebrating a milestone in your life or working through personal issues, it offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to delve deeper into who you are as a person. I will work with you to capture your personal story in a meaningful and authentic way.

I believe that everyone has a story worth telling, and am excited to help you share yours through art. Let’s help you create a beautiful and meaningful portrait that celebrates your unique identity!

Unbroken

No matter what the future holds, the human spirit will remain unbroken.

Unbroken is a new art project that celebrates the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Our project features photographs of nude and semi-nude people, covered in clay and posed in artistic ways. The aim of “Unbroken” is to showcase the indomitable nature of the human spirit and to remind viewers that no matter what challenges we face, we remain unbroken. We hope that the resultant collection of images will inspire and uplift all who see them, and we invite you to be a part of this exciting new project. Most of all, we hope you will be inspired by the beauty and strength of the human spirit!

This is a collaboration, with studio makeup artist Cheyenne Wright and Michael Matzko, involving nude or semi nude subjects covered in clay, capturing movement and dramatic stills, in a variety of lighting and styles. All skin types, races, body shapes, ages and sexes are encouraged to participate.

This exciting new project is all about self-expression and creativity. During this two day event, you will have the opportunity to express your personal view of yourself, and your life through what you wear. Whether you prefer bold and vibrant colors or understated and minimalist styles, this event is open to all. It is not about fashion, but rather about making a personal statement about who you are and what you stand for. We encourage you to embrace your unique style and let your individuality shine through.

I am <insert> is designed as a mini portrait session, where the subject arrives in whatever form they choose which best describes something they want to share. They may dress in whatever they desire, bring props, and come with whatever look they believe best expresses themselves.

The portrait event will be held once a month, starting in June 2023 and will comprise of portraits, with the intent of creating a single image which best represents the artists interpretation of you. Each session will have different lighting and approaches to the portraits.

All races, sexes, body types, skin types and ages are encouraged to participate. Subjects will receive a digital file and prints may be ordered.

Nudes in Movement

Nude movement portrait sessions celebrate the beauty and power of the human body. Whether you’re a dancer, athlete, or simply someone who appreciates the art of movement, these sessions provide an opportunity to capture the grace and strength of your body in motion. Michael will use both an artistic eye and technical expertise to create stunning, one-of-a-kind images that showcase the form and movement of the human body in all its beauty and complexity. Whether you’re looking to document a specific skill or simply capture the essence of your body in motion, these sessions are the perfect way to celebrate the human form in all its glory.

This series of abstract nudes are designed to celebrate the human body in action – a discovery of light, technology and the purest form of being human. All skin colors and sexes are invited to participate. Includes dancers, acrobats, athletes, yoga devotees and people who love to move for whatever reason.
